The “fish tale” giants have usually been landed following the big spawn from April through until season close at June’s end.

It’s music to the ears of most serious anglers because landing a double digit bass will land you short term fame and bragging rights. Visitors are always welcome at Lake El Salto and there are several fishing tour companies which provide either a sole El Sato experience or include it as part of a fishing itinerary. As an example, a two day package would set you back about $500 and the value you receive is excellent. All meals, transport to the lake and back to your accomodation which is also usually included in the price, drinks and boat guides who are conversant in both english and spanish and not to mention your fishing license. That’s a pretty good deal in anyone’s language.
Lake El Salto is a bass fishing heaven. In fact, in 2002, a fish nearing 20 pounds was landed on the lake. It’s reputation as a breeding ground for monsters continues to grow.
