The ten other players in each team play outfield, and strive to score goals by kicking the ball across the goal line.
There are a variety of different forms of soccer you can play with a couple of friends, even if you can make up the numbers for 11-a-side. As well as 5-a-sides and 7-a-sides, which are lightening fast paced smaller games, there are also other games which adopt various names, but maintain a similar structure.
One of the best games you can play involves an every man for themselves approach, and requires only one goal keeper. A round robin style competition can be played with any number, with certain players eliminated depending on their ultimate score at the end of each round. This can also be played with small teams, to provide a fast paced fun game which can be a real test of skill for any player.
Soccer is a great game you can play with any number of friends, and it can be really good exercise too. In addition to that, it can help build invaluable team-working skills and social skills, giving it a wider social significance.
